Sunrise Soul Honouring Ceremony
Who?
Hosted by Back On Track, formerly Chandos House Charity, led by James Dickinson, with Cuillioc "Quill" as celebrant.
ALL are welcome to attend!
What?
For 27 years, James Dickinson brought light to the darkest time of the year by hosting a dawn Christmas breakfast for the residents of Chandos House Addiction Treatment Centre. Though the cherished tradition ended when Chandos closed in 2018, it was reborn in 2023 through James’ new venture, Back on Track—a sanctuary for holistic recovery, community, and nature-inspired adventures.
This Christmas, join us once again as we gather around the fire to honor the souls we’ve lost, push back the darkness, and welcome the rising sun. Enjoy James’ classic breakfast, warming drinks, and the spirit of togetherness. Expect a warm and friendly atmosphere, but cold weather; don’t forget your coziest clothes and wellies—let’s make memories that shine as brightly as the dawn!
When?
Wednesday, 25 December 2024 (Yes, Christmas day)
Please gather for 7:30am, to prepare for sunrise, which will occur at exactly 8:15am.
Where?
Boiling Wells Amphitheatre, Boiling Wells Lane, St Werburghs City Farm, Bristol, BS2 9XY UK

Directions: A short distance down Boiling Wells Lane, past the main farm office. Once you pass through the railway tunnel, the woods entrance is almost immediately on the right: then follow the path up and round to the left.
How?
Quill, a good friend of James' who has worked with him on some tragic but meaningful ceremonies in the past, has been invited as guest celebrant to offer a brief, Druidry-inspired but spiritually neutral blessing and short ceremony honouring the lives of those lost to us, before transitioning us through the darkness into the brightness of the lengthening days of the year. Candles will form a central part of the ceremony, and some will be provided, but you are invited to bring your own (it doesn't matter what kind, tea lights are just as good, and a lighter works in a pinch!)
We will then enjoy James' delicious food and warming drinks as well as sharing each other's warm company and the infinite hospitality of Back On Track.
Please contact James via Facebook with any questions or concerns, especially dietary needs. You can reach out to Quill if you do not have access to Facebook.
Also, please "buy" your FREE ticket to this event at Eventbrite. This will help us know how many people to cater for!
